The Caribbean is made up of more than 700 islands, reefs, and cays, and is fast becoming the hottest tourist destination for winter 2023/24. With the demand for summer sunshine all year round, winter travel is expected to surpass pre pandemic 2019 levels. This post pandemic revival has given the Caribbean economy a well needed boost and is attracting a new clientele with new restaurants and bars lining the sandy shores.
I recently visited Barbados and stayed at a beautiful private residence situated in Westmoreland, St James, just a stone’s throw away from the legendary Lone Star restaurant and the golden beaches that line the island.
There is a plethora of new and pre-loved properties coming to market in Barbados and I was fortunate to meet Wendy Hawkins who has lived on the Island since 2014 and is well versed in property management and acquisition. Her company Mint Management is based in St James, and it is here and the wider West Coast, Wendy introduced me to some delightful properties which provide a good return on investment and a holiday home with 365 (well almost) days of sunshine with all your property management cares taken away.
Property management is a vital component to running a successful rental portfolio and I was fortunate enough to experience Wendy’s’ golden touch during my stay. Every detail covered, a pristine pool and grounds thanks to a team of local workers who arrived at the crack of dawn to make sure the garden was beautifully appointed for my rising with Wendy and her team providing for my every need. It is indeed an art and one that Wendy and her clients testify to.
